This song was written by my Dad, Peter Forster. Back in the 80's when he wrote songs, played drums and recorded on the 8-track with his friends. Roy Smith, if you ever find this, thank you for the original melody - I can still remember it slightly, but we never had a recording. So, here we have a reimagined version, for today's 80's retro vibe.
Thank you Dad, for inspiring me to create music, write songs and be the best version of myself.
This is for you.

Two Kids Heads Down
Lyrics
Written by Peter Forster
Arranged by Layla Foord
Two kids, heads down
Wide eyed glances all around
Wish to god they’d never took the dare
Breath in. One chance
Wish they’d never left the dance
Make a dash and try to get back there
Head light. Blue light
Frightened boys in headlong flight
Echoes of their footsteps fill the air.
Slow down. Look round
Hugging shadows they have found.
Hope to god that no-one sees them there.
It’s tough on a child in the city
Not much to do that’s not been done before
It’s tough on a child in the city.
A teenage hero if you beat the law
Be a hero if you beat the law.
Heart beat so loud.
Not the way to make Dad proud
Get back home won’t make this mistake again.
Deep breath. Last chance
Got to make it to the dance
Run flat out forget about the pain.
If only you’d listened to your brother
Perhaps you’d still be playin’ your guitar
Instead of hiding from the head light
You didn’t even want to steal the car
All the time you got your back against the wall
More afraid of being a coward after all
Never thought you’d be running from the spot light
Head down afraid your gonna fall
It’s tough on a child in the city…
